The perfect combination of sophisticated yet casual, Jose's Mirliton Pendant is a beautiful interpretation of the vegetable that's become a staple of Creole cooking since it was first brought to New Orleans in the early 19th century. This green pear-shaped squash grows on a vine and is served a variety of ways including fried, pickled, or stuffed. When the Los Isleños immigrated from the Canary Islands to New Orleans, mirlitons became a regular part of their diet. As an Isleño descendant, Jose designed this collection as a tribute to his heritage and the food that makes it so unique.
